Cross Breed
- a cross between any breed type or a non-pedigree, non-specific breed.
Pedigree
- pedigree breed as recognised by the Kennel Club of Great Britain or the Governing Council of the Cat Fancy. Pet Protect will insure your pet if, at the start of the policy, your dog is aged between 8 weeks old and 7 years 11 months old (Specific Breeds & Large Dogs* up to 5 years 11 months old) and your cat is aged between 6 weeks old and 9 years and 11 months old.Once your pet is covered, they will be covered for the rest of their life provided you renew your policy each year.

* - Specified Breeds: Irish Wolfhound, Clumber Spaniel, Newfoundland, Grand Basset Griffon Vendeen, Rottweiler, Shar Pei, Great Dane, American Bulldog, Giant Schnauzer, Mastiff, Old English Mastiff, Bullmastiff, Neapolitian Mastiff, Scottish Deerhound, Bernese Mountain Dog, Miniature English Bull Terrier, St Bernard, Dogue de Bordeaux, English Bulldog, Bull Terrier (Miniature), Deerhound, Estrela Mountain Dog or a cross between any of the above and any other dog.
